Lindsay Lohan and Israeli-born fiancé announce engagement

Actress announced her engagement to actor on Instagram, suggesting the wedding will be held in Los Angeles

Lindsay Lohan has announced her engagement to a Jewish actor by sending out a photograph of them on Instagram and writing “His and Hers.”

The actress’s announcement – and her use of both Hebrew and Arabic – imply that the couple, who have not announced the location of their wedding, may have plans to wed in Israel.

In the snap Lohan wears a gown created by the British fashion house J.W. Anderson and carries a white bouquet. Shammas wears a metallic suit with an open-necked shirt and a red cap.

Lohan’s announcement implies that they intend to tie the knot in the US. Shammas is a film-maker and has made a few films in both Arabic and Hebrew.

The couple became friends after she cast him in her film Liz & Dick in 2012.

Shammas is the son of millionaire high-ranking royal from Saudi Arabia and the brother of Asir’s governor. He has also worked as a stuntman and actor in Hong Kong, Tokyo and Istanbul.

Lohan’s younger sister, Aliana, has Israeli citizenship and has previously been to the country to watch the winter Olympics.

Her Jewish fiancé was raised in a Jewish family but converted to Islam. He was able to do so after marrying a Muslim woman. Shammas has three children from his relationship with a married Arab woman.
