Jennifer Lopez may have made her breakup with Ben Affleck look as easy as falling out of a tree — with the help of professional PDA coach Javier Bardem! — but sources claim the couple is really headed for a split. This week, it was reported that the “On the Floor” singer decided to break things off with Affleck after she “had enough of the denial,” and that she will not be following the slow steps of a Hollywood couple as he needs to cope with his father’s condition.
“She’s fed up with Ben,” a source told People magazine. “She just can’t understand why he won’t leave this relationship alone.” Another insider insisted the romance was “truly meant to be.”
While Affleck has said previously that he wanted to stay in the relationship, he has since opted to move out.
This is not the first time Affleck has been in an on-again, off-again relationship. It’s just a different cast. In 2003, Affleck began a romance with actress Lindsay Shookus, and the two were engaged for three years before the split was confirmed. On the occasions that they reunited, they were seen together at premieres and on holiday. The actress’s attendance during Affleck’s amfAR gala, for instance, was reason enough for tabloids to speculate that they were back together. Shookus dated SNL’s Pete Davidson for three months before the couple broke up last week.
And Affleck has made public appearances with someone other than Lopez. Following the pair’s rendezvous in November 2017, he was spotted getting cozy with Canadian model Christine Sinclair on a plane to Washington, D.C. for the 2018 Winter Olympics. He and Lopez — who began dating back in 2014 — have done a handful of public appearances since then, though it’s unlikely that they will date again.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that Affleck’s estranged wife, Jennifer Garner, was pregnant with their third child. In a statement to People, the two stressed that they “remain committed to working together as parents to our children.”
